We are delighted to announce that conductor, composer and curator of sonic art projects Joan Cerveró will present a project focused around the works of John Cage in Castellón, Spain from 3 October to 28 December 2008.
The exhibition will take place at the EACC: Espai d'Art Contemporani de Castelló (EACC website) who have programmed more than sixty of Cage's works, including the five complete Europeras.
The exhibition will also present 'Musicircus', ten concerts, film, a seminar of studies on John Cage and 12 sound installations. Approximately 400 musicians, dancers and visual artists will play in the 'Musicircus' which will transform the EACC setting into a 'sonorous space'. Three CDs of Cage's work will also be recorded, and a catalogue and DVD of the Musicircus and the whole exhibition will be available following the event.
Collaborators in this project include: the Arditti String Quartet, Margaret Leng Tan, Kammerensemble Neue Musik Berlin, Percussion Group of The Hague and principally the resident orchestra, Group Instrumental of Valencia, conducted by exhibition curator Joan Cerveró.(Grup Instrumental website).
