Errollyn Wallen at Le Poisson Rouge in NYC, July 14, 2009
Errollyn Wallen and a diverse group of performers will be appearing at Le Poisson Rouge in New York City on July 14, 2009. The show entitled “Are You Worried About the Rising Cost of Funerals? – Errollyn Wallen and Friends” is a concert of her own compositions together with songs from the Errollyn Wallen Songbook. Among the special guests are Margaret Leng Tan who will perform toy piano music composed for her by Wallen, John Wesley Harding, noted author and singer-songwriter, with whom Wallenhas collaborated, the Djonque string quartet formed by violist Rita Porfiris of the Houston Symphony. The gifted novelist, David Grand, will be unveiling an extract of his forthcoming novel accompanied by the Djonque string quartet playing a movement from Wallen’s Second String Quartet. Singer Elizabeth Farnum will sing the haunting song Daedalus in an arrangement made for the Brodsky Quartet and featured on their album Moodswings.
