The world premiere broadcast of Rebecca Saunders's violin concerto, Still, takes place on 22 October at 21:30 on BBC Radio 3's Pre-Hear. The work, a commission of Beethovenfest Bonn and BBC Radio 3 for Carolin Widmann and the BBC Symphony Orchestra, supported by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation, received its first performance on 29 September 2011 at the Beethovenfest with Widmann and the BBC Symphony Orchestra under Sylvain Cambreling. The orchestra then performed the work on 30 September at the Bijloke, Ghent, and will perform it at the Barbican in London in February 2012. The work will also be performed as part of Wien Modern on 3 November 2011 by Widmann and the Radio-Symphonieorchester
Wien under Johannes Kalitzke.
