Sebastian Fagerlund's new piece, Stonework for orchestra, will be premiered in Bergen on 26 November 2015 by the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Edvard Gardner. The premiere will kick start a series of performances which includes a Finnish premiere from the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Santtu-Matias Rouvali, and further performances by the Finnish Royal Symphony Orchestra in Helsinki under the baton of Hannu Lintu.
Fagerlund is currently at RUSK Festival in Jacobstad where he is Artistic Director and where fellow Peters composer Jesper Nordin is Composer-in-Residence this week (17-21 November). A number of Nordin's works will be performed including Calm like a bomb, Frozen Still and Gammeldansen, as well as a series of workshops demonstrating his Gestrument which is often a feature in Nordin's compositions with electronics.
