Who Wrote The Book Of Love?

Philippe Sly and Dante Quartet at Kings Place

Written as a birthday present for a friend, Jonathan Dove’s Who Wrote the Book of Love? receives its public premiere on 12 February at Kings Place.

The work, which sets seventeen lyrics by Alasdair Middleton exploring the theme of love, will be performed by bass-baritone Philippe Sly and the Dante Quartet. These lyrics each resonate with difference poetic modes – Greek Love, Persian Love Gallant Love, Cold Love…
