Rebecca Saunders' Yes At The Berliner Festspiele

9 September 2017

Yes, a new spatialised composition for soprano, 19 soloists and conductor by Rebecca Saunders, premieres with Musikfabrik at the Berliner Festspiele on 9 September with a further performance at Festival d’Automne in Paris on 28 September.

The hour long work comprises a conducted central and conventionally notated module, Nether, framed either side by instrumental modules that combine to form a spatial collage of solos, duos and larger ensemble groupings distributed throughout the performance space and beyond.

For the text, Saunders’ returns to Molly Bloom’s soliloquy from James Joyce’s Ulysses, which has served as inspiration for previous works including Molly’s Song 3 which recently graced Wilton’s Music Hall with BCMG for this year's BBC Proms.
